Sanctuary Choir

For High School students and adults, the Sanctuary Choir has a long history of distinguished service to the church through leading the singing each Sunday in worship and presenting special music at festival services. Rehearsals are Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m.

Treble Choir
For adult women, the Treble Choir sings often during worship, presenting challenging music in diverse styles. Rehearsals are Mondays at 6:00 p.m.

Handbell Choir
Handbells have been an active part of the music ministry of First Christian Church for over twenty years, using a complete set of sixty-one bells. New ringers are always welcome. Rehearsals are on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m.

Handbell Quartet/Handbell Ringers
This small handbell ensemble presents a wide range of challenging music written for English handbells, as well as, the centuries-old practice of change ringing on our set of Dutch Handbells. Rehearsals are on Wednesdays, at 6:00 p.m.

First Christian Brass
The First Church Brass ensemble plays for festive services throughout the year with emphasis placed on music for brass, organ, and timpani. Experienced brass players are encouraged to take part. Contact Mark Miller for more information. Rehearsals are to be announced.

Contemporary Worship Service
The newest addition to our music ministry includes the Contemporary Worship Service with vocalists, keyboards, guitars and drums, leading the congregation in contemporary Christian praise music each Sunday morning at 11:15 A.M. Contact Marcia Foster for more information. Rehearsals are Monday evenings at 7:00pm.

Special Music Service
Held throughout the season, such as the Christmas Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols, Lenten Services and the Maundy Thursday Communion Service. In addition, festive celebration music with organ, choirs, bells and brass is always an integral part of Christmas and Easter worship at First Christian Church.

Musical Offerings
Including programs and concerts throughout the year featuring guest musical ensembles and soloists. The excellent acoustics of our Sanctuary and Chapel offer a beautiful setting for ensembles such as Musica Antiqua Lincoln, Dulces Voces, Lincoln Organ Showcase, and various professional and college choirs and ensembles on tour.
